The Picture Editors' Awards have for the past fifteen years recognised excellence in photographic journalism. Unfortunately, it has not been possible this year to assemble the necessary financial and organisational support for the Awards to continue, and consequently no competition will be held this year

In the absence of interest in continuing with the awards from Picture Editors or new sponsorship, this showcase for photographic journalism will no longer take place. Due to costs in keeping the historical galleries of winners going, and no funding from picture editors, these have had to be removed

We would like to acknowledge with thanks all the picture editors, photographers, sponsors and other supporters who have contributed so much to the success of the Awards in previous years.
